Check out the horses to follow from racing at Bendigo on Wednesday the 28th of February .
For those who don’t know, a Blackbook is basically the name given to a punters little book of horses to follow in the future. Every race is full of bad rides, bad luck stories, near misses, and next time’s. A blackbook is aimed at capturing all of these moments and much more.
There are a number of sites who offer you a place to keep track of your horses to follow and they will send you a notification a few days before the horse is due to run. The best and easiest to use is probably punters.com.au, but we would encourage you to just use whichever site suits you best.

We have found 5 horses worth following out of the Bendigo meeting held on the 28th of February 2018.
Zizzis was the well backed winner on debut. $14 into $6 and ran a big race. Led them all the way. Went hard enough early and he was entitled to fade away at the end but stuck on well. Probably didn’t get a great deal of pressure but could be a talented sprinter. From a betting perspective, would prefer to see her go through the grades rather than going for black-type yet, but a solid win over the boys nonetheless. Ran slick time compared to the bm70 on the day and it was equal to Chateau Griffo’s (Group3 placed behind Tulip & Limestone) time posted in the next race. Strong winds may have contributed to the times difference to BM70. Still, has ability and improvement so worth watching her going forward.
Chess Star chased down the winner pretty well after a tough run in transit. The 2yo colt drew gate 11 and raced up on the speed wide without cover and taking on the breeze. He also had the better sectionals than the winner. Took a bit of winding up but really knuckled down late to hit the line well. From Gai Waterhouse’s stable so you would imagine that he will lead next start over a little bit further and with a better barrier. Certainly worth a look with natural improvement to come.
Race 3 – DIAMOND MOSS:
Diamond Moss absolutely rocketed home from the back at big odds. Finished 1 length behind the winner who is a pretty smart one. Admittedly had things go her way but keen to see her 2nd-up and over more ground. Needs a hotly run race but she’s only lightly raced 5yo and looks to have come back in nice order.
Race 5 – O’LONHRO BAY:
This guy is in pretty good form and he has run another good race here 3rd up. Finished 3rd but did not get the race run to suit him at all. Has still mustered some late speed and hit the line well for 3rd place. Looks like a miler and looking forward to his next run over longer. Will need some luck and a genuine tempo to see him at his best.
Race 6 – GO DOWN:
Go Down absolutely smashed the opposition in this one. She’s been up for a while with the odd freshen up but really peaked this run. A mare in form and well worth watching where she ends up next start.
